The ICoC Business Mentoring programme has been developed to empower new, growing and established businesses to reach unlimited heights in their business potential.
Mentors have been carefully selected from the chamber membership and contact base and will be offering one-to-one and virtual guidance and inspiration to business owners who are keen to make an impact with their ideas. We will be encouraging Business-to-Business Mentoring and relationship building.
What makes the ICoC Business Mentoring Model Different?
Affordability – This programme is only open to members of the chamber of commerce and is free to chamber members
Innovation – The Chamber will be compiling its own podcast audiovisual library of key influential business owners and chamber members which will be used as a live resource for the chamber.
Relevance – All success stories aspired to be great, utilised the inspiration taken from others to attain that greatness, which is no less important in today’s high-tech and fast paced business world. We will also be offering key business advice portals where possible – including advice on marketing, finance and legal issues.
Programme participation profile:
Mentors – Experienced businesses with a minimum of 5 years trading. We ask for a maximum of 2 hours a month from mentors that can be spent as physical face time or virtually via telephone or email. Mentees – Start-ups and growing businesses with less than 3 years trading.

Islington Chamber of Commerce is joining the call for experienced business people to get involved in Get Mentoring (www.getmentoring.org), a UK wide initiative, launched last November by Business Minister, Mark Prisk. Get Mentoring has been put in place to recruit and train business mentors from the micro, small and medium sized business sector. The scheme is designed for those interested in (or already) mentoring new and growing businesses.
We ask for committed and open relationships with business mentors.
To apply for this programme please email admin@islingtonchamber.org.uk with your full name, contact details, business name/business idea and the reason why you need business mentoring(in a max of 250 words).
A member of the chamber team will then call you/email to discuss your application.
The Mentoring programme runs for 6 months from the time of introduction between the mentor and mentee – The Islington Chamber of Commerce cannot accept responsibility for any dialogue or agreements made whilst being part of the programme. Feedback is welcomed and encouraged from both parties.
